The product and process

 

What materials do you work with?

There are three options for you to choose from, three dimensional wood canvas, watercolor paper, and watercolor paper on a three-dimensional canvas. If you plan to frame the painting, the watercolor paper is probably your best option. However, if you want your art piece to feature images on the sides, also these can be mounted directly on the wall.

 

What paints do you use?

Golden Artist Acrylic paints are chosen because they "strive for formulations and processes that reflect concern for the environment" and can be safely used around children and pets.

 

What are the sizes offered?

6" x 6" are ideal for small pets, 8" x  8" are perfect for small children 5 years and under,8" x 10" for small hands and paws,  10" x 12" for larger hands

 

What do you mean by Mixed Media?

Bits of lace, pieces of wallpaper, gold-leaf, and other interesting articles can be incorporated in to a collage that provides a background to your artwork. These items give context to the personality of your loved one and add a tangible element to the piece. Because of the nature of this style, these elements must be incorporated before prints are taken.

 

How do you take prints of hands, feet, or paws?

To make sure we capture all the details, only one hand, foot, or paw is printed at a time. We use a soft brush to apply paint, then position it over the canvas and use gentle pressure to ensure that a complete imprint is captured.

 

Is making the print uncomfortable?

Usually it is not uncomfortable because it requires a gentle but firm straight down impression and then a lift straight off works really well.

 

What if the print does not look good?

If the imprint does not turn out just right, the canvas can be wiped clean and a new impression can be taken. 

 

How much time does it take to do the prints?  

It is effortlessly easy and can be done in about 20 minutes. The artwork takes more time and depends on the complexity of the required elements.

 

Can the paint readily wash off?

Yes. A bit of hand cream also helps.

 

Do you do adult feet?

No, we do not do adult footprints, just children.

 

What if you want to make copies?  

This is one of a kind and meant to be that way, that is why you are hiring us. It is also copyrighted, so all rights are reserved.

How long will it take to create my artwork?

Normally, a 2 week time frame seems to be comfortable.

 

How will I receive my painting?

I can do ground FedEx.

 

How much is shipping?

This will depend on the size of the artwork.

 

What if my order was damaged in shipping?

No worries, please contact me and I'll take care of the issue immediately.
